Wells Fargo has completed deployment of an AI-driven workforce scheduling system across all 4,500 of its retail branches, the bank confirmed this week. The system uses machine learning to predict foot traffic patterns and transaction mix, then automatically adjusts staffing levels and specialist assignments on a daily basis.
The model ingests data from branch sensors, appointment systems, ATM transaction volumes, mobile app check-in patterns, and external signals like local weather and events. It generates staffing recommendations 72 hours in advance and adjusts in near-real-time as conditions change.
